This route will begin by entering the Delaware International Speedway and US 13 Dragway from the right side of their entrance road. After patrons purchase their ticket and receive their ballot forms, they will proceed north to the Santa Expressway Exit. The route will be showcased by replica Interstate Highway signs mounted just past the ticket booths directing them to move from three lanes of traffic into one lane, which will proceed along the designated course. The first part will consist of a trip to the North Pole where Santa and his famous reindeer team reside.
Our first display will begin at Exit 1 where we will find Dasher's Diner and the North Pole Tourism Department. Lights and painted figurines will display a busy diner and tourism center filled with reindeer, elves and maybe even Santa or Mrs. Claus stopping by for lunch or getting directions to Santa's Village.
Lights will outline the roadways with arrows, signage and volunteers directing vehicles to their next destination which will be Exit 2. Patrons will have to use caution because they will never know when they may come upon a reindeer crossing along the way. At Exit 2, they will find Dancer’s Hotel and Prancer’s Garage, where reindeer and elves may be checking in for a possible vacation stay and/or business trip while locals will be having their sleighs serviced at Prancer’s Garage. Patrons of "Decorating Delmarva” will have their pictures taken in front of Prancer’s Garage where our team of elves and reindeer may check out their cars for them. Who knows? You may catch Santa trying to jump in and help out as well!
Then, patrons will proceed on to Exit 3 where Rudolph’s Raceway is located. Nightly racing will be a main attraction and fans will be lined around the speedway purchasing tickets or enjoying a treat at concessions. Race teams will be getting ready to race around the local North Pole Racetrack. Also located at Exit 3 is Vixon’s Auto Dealership where North Pole residents always go to buy their new and used sleighs. Comet’s Convenience Store is a local hang-out located across the street from the Racetrack and beside Vixon’s Dealership.
Next, they will head to Exit 4 where Donner’s Hardware store is always busy with locals picking up their home and garden needs. Donner’s Hardware is the place to shop for every home owner at the North Pole. After leaving Donner’s Hardware, patrons will proceed to Exit 5 and the North Pole International Airport (NPIA) where Santa departs every Christmas Eve for his famous flight around the world. He travels around the world flying in and out of NPIA daily with non-stop flights to the Wicomico Airport. This will end Part 1 of the tour, now heading to Exit 6 and the beginning of Part 2 “Decorating Delmarva.”
